If I Could Do It All Over Again

Some apologies come after it's too late.

She speaks to Michel, someone she lost and deeply misses. She wishes she had accepted him as he accepted her and had gone to see him that night.

If she could do it all over again, she wouldn't have been so selfish.

She's glad he doesn't hurt anymore.

She's glad he died sober.

But she still carries one regret.

She's sorry she couldn't love him the way he loved her.

And she misses him.

Sometimes we grieve not only who we lost, but the words we never got to say to them.
